2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumAnybody else picking up nervous habits waiting for Election Day?
I refresh DU Latest News every 5 minutes. And I am gobbling chocolate and carbs like I'm in a contest. Glued to tv too.

(46 posts)Not to talk but to constantly refresh twitter or check news sites. I put it away, then think "well, it's been a whole hour SOMETHING could've happened" and since my cell is mobile and my desktop and TV aren't, I'm constantly on it. *sigh*
Constantly checking DU & Daily Kos on phone for any new developments or polls. Same with Facebook.

(223 posts)is for some a temporary phenomenon. I walked away today. Whatever happens is not going to be changed now, and the last news events, his leadership on Sandy, the jobs report, were all positive. I believe in karma. We will win.

Depressed at the thought of Voter Suppression
I am usually very calm and relaxed, but this election has been incredibly stressful. I guess it's because of the incredibly huge consequences that the result will have.

(5,007 posts)Emotional eating. When I get upset or worried I will automatically grab something to eat without thinking . So I'm trying to avoid that.

(27,439 posts)That's the good part. My left eye developed a twitch that comes and goes depending on my stress level.
It hasn't helped that my son and his family are staying not far from Hoboken and have been without water and power for several days. They are safe but I still worry and hope the baby isn't getting sick from the cold. But I know they are better off than many there so I try not to worry too much. Water back on yesterday and power should be on today. That should take the edge off some of my worry. Now I just hope they can make it back to Manhattan to vote.
I don't think I have ever had such a visceral dislike for a candidate as much as I do of Romney.

(522 posts)Beer and cigarettes are always on hand. BUT, I'm having an election watch party at my house with my sister and Mother. Champagne will be on ice. Obama will win!
