Just saw this on the Seattle ABC-TV affiliate:
A poll worker was taking mailed-in ballots that didn't have all of the positions filled and was filling in blank spaces for the Republican candidates. The county's security measures were responsible for catching her. They are now trying to determine how many ballots she marked. She has not yet been arrested, but an investigation has been opened.

(44,972 posts)By the way tampering with ballots by a poll worker should lead to a long prison time.

(190 posts)but I used to work in Clackamas County, Oregon. It contains the far southeastern chunk of the Portland Metropolitan Area (very high-income quasi-suburban neighborhoods like Sunnyside), and spreads out to a string of outlying unincorporated towns and hamlets marginally classifiable as suburbs. This is where one finds a lot of the shut-in recluse types that vocally eschew the progressive culture of Portland. I was once threatened with violence from a local in Boring who took exception to my bumper sticker that said "Bush Is A Terrorist".
So...rural hicks, wealthy suburbanites, and CON-servative voter fraud...somehow I'm not surprised

(15,262 posts)We really don't know the extent of the malfeasance yet. It is being framed as no big deal, down-ticket, just filling empty spaces, but that is spin, NOT FACTS!
This may involve attempting to change a U. S. Congress election!!!!

(15,262 posts)That said, trying to fix Congress is a bigger deal, and if that is what is afoot here, the implications are much broader.
First question then becomes, "Where else in the district is this going on?"
And the second question would be, "What other districts around the country are targets?"
Sometimes, the spin is more revealing that the story.

Stolen votes are a violation of a sacred right. If someone chooses to leave a spot blank, that is the same as their vote.

(3,153 posts)You will be seeing many stories like this ... They are pulling out ALL the stops, and have unlimited $$$$$$$$$$ for bribery. Too many unethical people in high positions to affect the elections.
