(40,366 posts)no other candidate would even acknowledge it existed. That is certainly consistent with Bernie's passionate caring for the least of us over his career.

(1,835 posts)A young man worked NH for Jesse in the 1988 primary. He was at the Berlin, NH office when three burly white guys with long beards show up in a pickup truck with a rifle rack. The young man thinks the three guys are looking for trouble. The three guys get out of the truck and ask him if this is the Jackson campaign office. The young man nervously says yes.
Turns out they were put out of their jobs when their employer went into bankruptcy. One of them smiled and said, "Jackson's the only one who really seems to want to help us, so we want to help him."
