14. When I was a kid...

We had a biracial boy in my fourth grade class. I grew up in a very lily-white area of WV, where there were very few black families, and no, I mean NO biracial couples at that time. That boy, Olando, was made fun of relentlessly by nearly all of the children in my class. It breaks my heart to know that this poor little girl has to go through the same thing for a slightly different reason.

Kids aren't born with prejudice and hatred in their hearts... They learn it from their parents.
