Just got a phone call...

...from Mitt Romney campaign office. A very nice-sounding lady said, "I'm with the Romney campaign office, and I wanted--"
At which point I interrupted her. "I have two words for Mitt Romney, and they rhyme with 'truck' and 'poo.' Guess what they are!"

End of conversation.

Aren't such calls evidence of a problem in the campaign? PsychProfessor Nov 2012 #2

I remember during the last election we got a call from the Rethuglican Party. The woman on the phone said, "Hello, we are just calling to remind you to get out and vote for John McCain and..."

I cut her off and said, "Wow...did you call the wrong house!"

When I worked GOTV for Mr. Obama in 2008, we were given the addresses to visit and they were all democrats. The goal was to remind them to vote, see if they needed a ride, find out if they had voted, etc. It seems to me to waste an awful lot of time if you are making mistakes by calling people from the other side. My Dad (in Ohio) says his phone is ringing off the hook with Romney-related calls. The man is retired but he was the president of his union local and is a lifelong democrat (his only complaint about President Obama is that he is not liberal enough). Really, Willard? Do you think my Dad is going to vote for you? Seems like a waste of time (and a nuisance).
