The President is assessing the hurricane damage. I see it that President Obama provides support to the citizens who are suffering, scared and want to know if they will survive this crisis.

That is how I see it.

I see Gov. Christie as grateful.

His guy's busy handing out expired yams and disrupting Red Cross efforts, and Obama gets to play Healer-in-Chief.

That widespread media coverage of Obama doing his job as it should be done, working in a bipartisan manner with a state governor of another party, and choosing to stay off the campaign trail in the process, will exponentially reap more political benefit in EVERY state than targetting any one swing state with a stump speech appearance. To them, this is "just not fair" and for his role Christie is now "persona non grata".

But seriously, to the GOP claim that Obama is an ideologue, the last image many voters will see of Obama before casting a ballot is him working hand-in-hand with a serious Republican ideologue. Brilliant move on their part (and on Christie's, with regard to his 2016 ambitions).

Four years is a long time, and anything can happen. In 2004, Mitt Romney was thinking that he'd be wrapping up his first term in office right now.

The desperation of the Repuglican/Tea Party/Rmoney campaigns just oozes off of the Drudge web site.

The lies, pettiness, meanness, distortions ... all of which Drudge spews is probably one of the clearest indications that Rmoney is losing and may be losing big.

The crazier Drudge gets, the more you can be assured that Pres. Obama is going to get re-elected.

(And, yes, you can also feel the anger and frustration on the page ... makes me laugh.)

He was one of the first in the media to leak raw exit polls in 00 and 04 that showed Gore with a real shot and Kerry winning.
