2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIf the Democratic Primary race is to be decided by the most recent
primary election that occurs, I say let's wait until the DC one. Let's ignore New York, and all the rest and just see what the voters in DC decide. Forget the convention and all those pledged delegates and superdelegates. We don't need all that stuff.
I mean, Bernie won Indiana yesterday, so some people are calling for Hillary to drop out because Sanders picked up a handful of pledged delegates, even though Hillary Clinton has an almost 300 pledged delegate lead. So, it's apparent that only the most recent primary election makes any difference.
I'm cool with that. But there are still several primaries to go, and the one in DC is the last one, so let's just trash the convention and go with the DC results. Who cares about a 3.1 million popular vote lead nationally? DC can decide. I mean, that's where the next President will live, after all.
What do you think?

(99,708 posts)It's like a card game and you call "pot".
I would be more than wiling to bet the "pot" on our nation's capital and let its residents choose our nominee.

(146,255 posts)Nobody seems to care about delegates and popular votes or the convention. So, let's just cut to the chase and give the nomination to the winner of the final primary election.
Makes as much sense as most of the suggestions I'm seeing. Let's just go "all in" on the turn of the last card.

It's all so dramatic! Hahahahaha. Here ya go.
