Are These Hurricane Related Election Nightmares Just More Attempts to Get Ratings?

Yes, hurricanes are bad and yes, the election is in 8 days. However, I have read probably a dozen articles today (i haven't been very productive this afternoon) from various media outlets about dooms day election scenarios where democrats aren't able to vote in blue states but republicans still are for some reason, thus handing the election to Romney. Or that the election will be delayed by a few weeks, somehow. Or that Obama bungle the hurricane response. Or that Philadelphia won't get power back until March of 2014, thus creating a dystopic city in Romney's America or whatever crazy crap people can think of.

Are we seeing more tricks by the media to get us to "stay tuned", so they can milk every last dollar out of this election before people realize that David Gregory is an idiot on November 8th?

We have a whole freakin' week to get things in order. It will impact some, but the overall state of the race will remain the same. If anything, I think Obama's response is the bigger story than whether power will be restored by this time next week.
