2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumIt's going to be a fun election night.
The fact the polls, at least at the state level, haven't shifted much even since the first presidential debate, leads me to believe, a week out, that Pres. Obama is in good position, nay, fantastic position, to win reelection. I am confident that Ohio will go Democratic and I'm starting to believe Virginia and Florida might slide his way too.
While I anticipate narrow wins overall, it's still going to be nice hearing Wolf Blitzer announce, probably a little after 12:00 ET, that Pres. Obama has won reelection.

(13,575 posts)I've been lurking and trolling a little there but my heart was never in it. I've posted what seems like quite a few time because it was such a chore. My count still can't be high enough to really fool anyone.
So I decided to go out in a blaze of glory and make it a doozy. I've got some good ideas. One part will be to challenge them to keep their promise, pack up the cousin and kids and get the fuck out of my country! Remind them that Canada doesn't want their bagger asses and they can't go to any European sohshulist country either! That leaves mostly countries with more dark skinned people than we have.
It will be sweet to give them a steaming shit facial and tell them Obama is still President and he's still black!

They just completed this spiel on how McCain could win if he won Ohio.
About 10 seconds later my son texts me from NYC "it's over!"
I was still a wreck until CA was called. I hope I do better this year.

(1,014 posts)stores put Christmas crap out in August (like they did this year), so that by the time Christmas actually gets here, you're ready to scream because you're so sick of seeing/hearing anything having to do with Christmas, kwim?
I feel like this election has lasted F O R E V E R.

(527 posts)The MSM are not going to want to call OH, WI, VA, IA, and NV for Obama until they are certain he wins there.
