(48,181 posts)Nashua has around 86,000 people, so one could say that 10% of the town showed up. It was a big crowd for here.

(83,746 posts)the east coast is battening down the hatches for the big storm....her friend has a house on the cape and she helped close it up! This storm has very serious potential for us here. However I have to say for the baby state of New Hampshire that was a good show.If I had not been working I would have been there.
Posted from the great state of Mass!

Japan tsunami and decided to move inland.. or get
a house that can float.

(83,746 posts)Sometime monday morning...however have heard a lot of conflicting reports.Channel 7 saying worst is 9pm thru the nite. The idea of "A Perfect Storm" is a little scare! Especially with the weather patterns we have had of late.I am not on the coast however that has not made us safe in the past.
Thanks for your thoughts!

(83,746 posts)I believe that was the movie title. First time I saw it we were in the middle of a rather bad blizzard. We had been having bizarre weather patterns just prior to my watching the movie.Everything from major flooding to hurricanes, hail and tornado's all over the USA.Then I watch this movie(fiction) and bam it was like the real stuff that was actually happening!
Global warming? Yup it sure scares the heck out of me.
A perfect storm is what they are calling it. With our past history of storms? Yup you have to give it credibility.

(47,399 posts)So a lot of the people we met were from MA.
It is very possible there were 8500 people, it was hard to tell when you were in the middle of it all.

(22,669 posts)I hope we destroy the Republicans this election.
I can tell you from the GOTV voters I spoke to today, they're very excited we were out canvasing and are equally encouraged by the enthusiasm here too.
Seems all the momentum is on our side.

Mass
(27,315 posts)An estimated 8,500 Obama supporters fleshed out the grassy knoll in front of Elm Street School Saturday for a stop by President Obama.
That number, provided by Nashua Fire Marshal Cynthia Bautista, could make this the largest political rally in New Hampshire history, beating Oprah/Obama in 2007, according to WMUR political analyst James Pindell.
So much for enthusiasm gap

(25,415 posts)There is more people in the bottom half then the middle and top. I love NH and really, really hope it goes blue again. It would anger my right wing father in law that lives there but I would love it.
I am not crazy about it's libertarian anti tax nuttiness but I love the natural beauty of the state. If I could pick somewhere to retire to someday, NH would be it. Somewhere in the White Mountains.
Next summer, I am staying for a week and have plans to ride the Cog Railway up the White Mountains. A bit scary but so worth it. And I will walk the Flume Gorge again and crawl through the Polar Caves and then eat some maple sugar candy. My favorite vacation place.

(42,770 posts)And I love NH. When I worked in Boston for two years, my husband flew in and we drove up to the top of NH, where the loons and moose are...North Country. It was so cool....we stayed in a cabin on a lake and heard the loons cooing. Stunning place
A lot of right-leaning people I worked with lived just over the line in NH. Amazing there are liberals there.

(25,415 posts)Too bad there are some really nutty people there. The most conservative people in New England live there. If I moved there in 30 years when I retire I can add to it's liberal population!
My father in law and his wife, my mother and my father are all right leaning and somewhat nutty. My other mother in law (my husband's parents are divorced) is thankfully a registered Democrat. She is the only sane one in her politics.

(3,335 posts)they mentioned about Romney photoshopped picture of that rally the other day and were laughing about it. So now that they know what a fraud he is why do they keep mentioning that the two are virtually tied when they mention a poll where Obama is obviously ahead yet contantly referring Mitt as 'surging' or having the 'momentum' when his momentum has stalled.

I agree about the wonderful vibes. Everyone was so happy to be there, even after waiting forever in line.

(47,399 posts)even though my feet were killing me. I NEVER wait in line for anything, but this was different. Everyone was so happy and polite. I found myself wondering what a similar Romney event would be like. I just can't imagine it being so pleasant and positive.

(12,150 posts)...of white faces to me. Are you sure this was a rally for the President?
Big fucking surprise coming for the jackoff, right-wing pollsters in a week and a half.

(37,449 posts)An aquaintance today thought he was a puke said what did you think about the comment Chrysler making Jeeps in China. I said it was a damn lie, he goes the lying MF Romney I can't stand him. He later says I still think the last legitimate Presdient before Obama was Clinton. Oh well live and learn.

(489 posts)I'd have been there! Considering the location of this rally, I think 8,500 is a tremendous crowd.
The Willard campaign held a rally in Nashua at a ballpark, Holman Stadium, last month and had to work its ass off to fill the place. The seating capacity at Holman is about 2,400 people.
