Calls for BO in OH tonight
... just volunteered for an hour to do campaign calls to likely democrats or undecideds. I kid you not, went through many pages of registrations, did not talk to A SINGLE person on the list. One answering machine after another.
Which gets another incite into why the polls are looking like malarkey. It would be a statistical null result that of 200+ people, not a single random person would be home to take the call, whether for Romney or Obama. If that's what is happening in other polls, you are not going to get any type of reliable forecast.

2. Do you all make these calls around dinner time?
|
Not sure if this makes any difference but calling around 6:00 pm catches people going out, picking kids up, dropping kids off, having dinner, going out for dinner. Some people don't answer during dinner time.
Plus more people are using cell phones as their main line now. Land lines aren't as effective to solicit to as before. Just some ideas on the lack of response. |

3. Of course. Day, time, and type of phone (land/cell) are significant indicators
|
of likely/not responses.

7. We dropped our land line a year ago & it's been heavenly. No constant robocalls, etc. I don't get
|
polled ever anymore but it's still much better. Plus the local OFA office has my number so that's not a problem.

I said I was voting for the Pres, Brown, and that I was a Dem.
It was a nice person with an asian accent (I asked but appologized for asking). I always answer the phone but Im on of the few who do. The people who called were out of Ogden utah. |
