Intrade is getting back to normal
If we care about that sort of thing
Obama 60.4% Romney 39.6% I think in reality, obama should be hovering around the mid to upper 70's but I don't gamble, so whatever.

2. Looks like the manipulators are steadily losing money on a mark-to-market basis.

4. Obama went up 5 and Romney went down 5.

But I don't take it too seriously. It is glorified betting after all.

5. Why yesterday was a "VERY BIG (propaganda) DAY" on DU and Intrade and everywhere else
|
The GOP knows that Obama cleaned Romney's clock in the third debate. Just pummeled him in front of the nation - made him look weak on security and otherwise played with him like a big cat toying with a small pathetic rodent.
So, YESTERDAY, the day immediately following the debate, had to be all spin all the time. It was the only way to blunt what would obviously be the Obama momentum. So, how do they do this? The preening and posturing. The word out to all the surrogates, internet and otherwise. The coordination of the blogs, flogging inevitability. And, yes, the Intrade "investment," and I think another poster is right to peg it at about $100,000 ( a small price to pay for a small front in the general defense). Will this all out attempt to stop a collapse of the entire Romney front following Monday's ass-beating succeed? Perhaps. Perhaps Romney can hold in at vaguely "in it" for two more weeks. But probably not. In many ways, we've seen since late September the campaign equivalent of the Eastern Front during WWII. Obama's poor performance in Debate 1 was very much a matter of underestimating the enemy's strength, or at least playing a losing strategy. But then things firm up, the tide turns, and it's literally just a matter of time until the entire Wehrmacht front collapses and collapses again. Many historians of the Eastern Front say the same thing: it was over from the beginning - there was always something structurally deficient and just wrong about the Wehrmacht effort - it was always just a matter of time. So this little exercise in futility might hold the line for a few days, but it is caving in, and fast. Point being, ATTACK! |
