Trump's birther PR stunt a reminder of the danger of gossipLast edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 01:02 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3)
Seriously. For 24 hours there was speculation about drugs, divorce and tons more just because this asshole known for birther lies said he had some huge announcement that would change the election. I was as guilty of it as anybody for being worried but it's shocking how many people were pulled in by this, worried by this, and trying to figure out what it might be in order to prepare for it.
Once again, our own insecurity seems to have done the President a disservice, just like after the first debate. Now, let's get back to promoting his IDEAS and his CHARACTER and put this sad chapter behind us. The Right Wingers are united in tearing him down. We need to be united in raising him, his ideas and Democratic principles up as much as possible wherever possible.

1. I wasn't worried. I mean, it's Trump.
|
Biggest blowhard around. No one took it seriously, even many conservatives.

2. Do you have a facebook page
|
Twitter account?
Make up for it by posting this - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/23/the-donald-fired-from-trump-tower-no-longer-manger-new-york-high-rise_n_2006368.html D.T. is humiliated right now - so I'd love to see that story firing around on google when people type in the words Donald Trump. |

11. I think we should change the rules about how many posts it takes to start an OP.
|
Sure as hell should be more than 20.

I do tend to lose my cool when it seems like some BS smear may work but that's only because I'm concerned. Perhaps I shouldn't worry as much and put up the wall that some of you seem to be able to. I'm working on it. |

17. Only to remind of how stupid it got now that we know what he really had (nothing)
|
I also wanted to make it clear that I'm embarrassed for being taken in and worried by it all. I"m sure I wasn't alone. It's obvious from posts on here that others were refreshing nervously hoping nothing damaging would come up.
There's a big difference between that and hoping for failure which is what it seems like you're implying I was doing and I take offense to that. |

Relax... What's up with the judgement? That's not very Liberal. Is there a written list of posts that are unacceptable here? Or are you just making them up as you go?

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 12:41 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) There has been a lot of talk and jokes about what Trump might have had. I thought I had info to share that we could all discuss. I don't see how it's any different than what others were doing and the point of this thread is to admit that I feel bad for believing he might have had something bad in the first place. You can look at those posts and it's pretty clear that I ALWAYS saw it from the perspective of "What would this mean" and how could we "minimize any damage" for the President if the rumors are true.

1.) Most people don't like the idea of rich people trying to bribe others to do things. 2.) Most people aren't proud of their college transcripts - that is, if they even went to college! |

21. I think it's even worse for them than that. The birther lies aren't shared by centrists
|
The birther lies only took off in RW circles because of Barack's name and skin color. Had he been a guy with a name like Mitt Romney that looked like Mitt Romney nobody would be questioning his heritage ever.
When Trump turns to this birther BS it HAS to remind undecideds and centrists who they're running with if they vote for the other side. Do they really want to be associated with such nonsense? That's where I think this will backfire. |

22. After the birth certificate stunt, Trump's
|
popularity took a nosedive. That will happen again after this latest nonsense.
And at the beginning of the video, he still takes credit for the release of the long-form. Unbelieveable ego. It amazes that any serious politician wants to associate with him. |
