Romney rally in Colorado draws 6k peopleLast edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 09:10 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
at the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Interestingly, the amphitheater was built by the Works Progress Administration and other government agencies as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s New Deal.
The Amphitheater is located in Matthews/Winters Park, which is a state park created by the Colorado Open Space program. The program is "a statewide organization of publicly funded local and regional open space programs, working cooperatively to share information, create public awareness and foster partnerships needed to protect and preserve the special places of Colorado." Hmmm.... I guess Rmoney didn't build any of that did he? edit. Sorry it was 6k people.

1. How many were there for the free concert vs how many were there to actually see R/R talk trash?
|
Like the Florida stumper........How many were there for Biktoberfest (or whatever it's called) vs how many were there to see R/R.
That is the question that demands answers! |

I guess Kid Rock and someone named Rodney Atkins gave a concert. |

15. Here is what I read
|
It was only two sentences
"What do Kid Rock, country singer Rodney Atkins and Gov. Susana Martinez have in common? All three will join Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney and his vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan at a campaign stop today outside Denver...." Why anyone would pay money to see kid rock is beyond me. |

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 09:14 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) From the story.
"Democrats say it's hypocritical for Romney and Ryan to campaign in this place that was built with government money. It's the sort of public works project that Democrats want more of but Republicans find wasteful." http://www.npr.org/2012/10/24/163527995/romney-rides-momentum-to-nevada-colorado Please list the news sources that I am allowed to listen to. Sorry I didnt check with you before turning on the news this morning. Please send me the proper lists of news outlets I am allowed to see and hear, less I make such an egregious error again. |

|
I thought when you said it was publically sponsored you meant publically sponsored. My ignorance prevented me from comprehending that it was a privately sponsored political event at a public site--sort of like when Obama speaks in a park or at a college. And 10,000 participants? I really got that way wrong also when Park Officials list it at less than 5,000 participants and Romney aids admit that they bussed in a bunch of old people. And the "Sort of public works project that Democrats want more of but Republicans find wasteful"....hmmm I think I saw this coment on Yahoo. Well then I'm just gonna have to pay for another pepperoni pizza for you. Nice job.

Last edited Wed Oct 24, 2012, 10:51 AM USA/ET - Edit history (7) Yeah you could listen to this story below and hear the quote for yourself:
http://www.npr.org/2012/10/24/163527995/romney-rides-momentum-to-nevada-colorado The story is only 4 minutes long. If you "saw this on yahoo" you better alert NPR and let them know that a copyright infringment happened. Or, better yet, why dont you give me the link to the Yahoo comment and I will alert NPR. Either post a link of I will have to believe you are not being truthful. Look if you dont like the wording, complain to Steve Inskeep on NPR because he is the reporter who said it. Or you could also check out the story on HuffPo. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/23/romney-rally-at-red-rocks_n_2005621.html "I thought when you said it was publically sponsored you meant publically sponsored" Nope, right there you are lying. I never said "sponsored" but nice try. I was speaking about the park in which the ampitheatre is located. The park is administered by a state organization called Colorado Open Space. I wanted to make sure I was accurate so I quoted the language used by the Open space colorado website. You can find that exact phrasing here. http://www.coloradoopenspace.org/ Welcome to COSA! And finally this one. And 10,000 participants? I really got that way wrong also when Park Officials list it at less than 5,000 participants Yep, as you see I corrected the story above based on the numbers in the linked NPR story. They stated that the venue holds 10k people but only 6k showed up. I got the numbers confused in my head and went back and corrected it to make it accurate. Sorry I messed up and then corrected the error. Well then I'm just gonna have to pay for another pepperoni pizza for you. Nice job. I am fairly certain you are a troll that is trying to downplay an incident that showed Romney is a hypocrite and a liar. Nice try troll. Oh, and about the pizza, no thanks im not hungry. The Vice President of the United States of America bought me pizza yesterday. http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251171281 |

We've driven it before. The Springs is the most conservative town in Colorado, home to many evangelical churches, notably Ted Haggard's church, before he was outed for messing around with drugs and a gay prostitute.

They know that if romney wins, their prophet Thomas Monson will basically be in charge of the U.S.
Romney would be excommunicated if he declined to do what his prophet instructed him to do. |

If it wasn't, please correct your spelling. If it was, that's offensive by calling all members of one religion morons. Or "morans" |

21. On MSNBC (Daily Rundown....Chuck Todd) they gave the number as 12,000.....
|
Which is interesting given that you say it seats a couple thousand less than that. Guess they were sitting on each other's laps. LOL The Repubs always seem to have a problem with counting, including their estimates of Electoral College votes that Mitt and Lyin' Ryan have in the bag. What do the officials at Red Rocks say about this? And wouldn't the Fire Marshall have a say in how many bodies they can stuff in one place that is over and above what the place can safely hold? Even an outdoor venue probably has rules about that, given that if there is a problem people have to be able to get out without trampling one another. |
