Romney rally in Colorado draws 6k people

Like the Florida stumper........How many were there for Biktoberfest (or whatever it's called) vs how many were there to see R/R.

It was only two sentences

Why anyone would pay money to see kid rock is beyond me.

Dayton Ohio yesterday at much much much smaller venue. He had the same crowd. In fact you can see the venue as it is in this music video.

I thought when you said it was publically sponsored you meant publically sponsored. My ignorance prevented me from comprehending that it was a privately sponsored political event at a public site--sort of like when Obama speaks in a park or at a college. And 10,000 participants? I really got that way wrong also when Park Officials list it at less than 5,000 participants and Romney aids admit that they bussed in a bunch of old people. And the "Sort of public works project that Democrats want more of but Republicans find wasteful"....hmmm I think I saw this coment on Yahoo. Well then I'm just gonna have to pay for another pepperoni pizza for you. Nice job.

The story is only 4 minutes long. If you "saw this on yahoo" you better alert NPR and let them know that a copyright infringment happened. Or, better yet, why dont you give me the link to the Yahoo comment and I will alert NPR. Either post a link of I will have to believe you are not being truthful. Look if you dont like the wording, complain to Steve Inskeep on NPR because he is the reporter who said it.

Nope, right there you are lying. I never said "sponsored" but nice try. I was speaking about the park in which the ampitheatre is located. The park is administered by a state organization called Colorado Open Space. I wanted to make sure I was accurate so I quoted the language used by the Open space colorado website. Yep, as you see I corrected the story above based on the numbers in the linked NPR story. They stated that the venue holds 10k people but only 6k showed up. I got the numbers confused in my head and went back and corrected it to make it accurate. Sorry I messed up and then corrected the error.

Very high teabilly Christian Right area. My husband and I were unmolested by traffic driving south and then onto 285 to go home.

We've driven it before. The Springs is the most conservative town in Colorado, home to many evangelical churches, notably Ted Haggard's church, before he was outed for messing around with drugs and a gay prostitute.

I would estimate that at least 3/4 of this audience are Mormans. Nothing to see here. Keep moving.

Which is interesting given that you say it seats a couple thousand less than that. Guess they were sitting on each other's laps. LOL The Repubs always seem to have a problem with counting, including their estimates of Electoral College votes that Mitt and Lyin' Ryan have in the bag.

What do the officials at Red Rocks say about this? And wouldn't the Fire Marshall have a say in how many bodies they can stuff in one place that is over and above what the place can safely hold? Even an outdoor venue probably has rules about that, given that if there is a problem people have to be able to get out without trampling one another.

When I saw that number I thought to myself, no that isn't possible.

Like many, I will be glad when this election is over.
