Memo to Quinnipiac: Few people care about Connecticut, pollwise
Q will release a Presidential poll of Connecticut tomorrow. http://www.quinnipiac.edu/institutes-centers/polling-institute/connecticut/release-detail?ReleaseID=1811
As a pollster that has gathered a lot of attention this cycle, Quinnipiac should invest resources in important states. I can already guess that Obama will be ahead by 10%-20% in CT. Gimme swing states. Thanks.

1. I care about the senate seat
|
a lot of people do. It's a close race and could help determine control of the Senate.

We (and you) do NOT want (Mrs. WWE) Linda McMahon to win Lieberman's seat. She would be a nightmare.

13. Precisely
|
which turned out to be so much closer to New Haven than I had anticipated. The first time that road suddenly became Hamden, I was like, oh, this is Hamden. As I'm sure you know, we've got the same road in both New Haven and Hamden.
I was good friends with a guy from Cheshire. Been to Cheshire Academy. Might I ask, though, I have this really vague recollection that there was a connection between Cheshire and the KKK? Or was it that the HQ was one town over? |

5. There has been a lot of polling in Connecticut because of the Senate race
|
Murphy appears to be in the lead now and is favored to win according to Nate Silver's projections, but for a while McMahon looked like she could pull an upset.
I think Quinnipiac previously had McMahon in the lead when they last did their CT polling a month or two ago, so if she loses the lead that is a bad sign for her since all other pollsters have Murphy ahead. |

6. Quinnipiac is simply polling the state with the Senate race as that race is very close.

I live in CT and wanted to know, so there you go. Q has plenty of resources, so don't worry. |

If you ate going to do a poll you might as well ask an additional question or two about the pres election.

9. The CT-Sen race is very important to Dems nationally
|
That race has been close since the summer, but Chris Murphy's strong debate performances and Machon's past comments on "sunsetting" Social Security is helping him to a 5-6 pt lead right now.
Also, a few weeks ago, Obama was only up 6 pts. There are a lot of Wall Streeters in Southwest CT. |

11. Please, if it weren't important, Bill Clinton wouldn't be coming to campaign for Murphy this Sunday.
|
For all of his mischief, Joe Lieberman voted with the Dems some of the time and this is his seat. The Democratic Party cannot afford to lose a Senate seat to an R.

|
I didn't even know this was happening until I saw your post. We already had plans to meet another couple for lunch in Waterbury on Sunday, so we're going to try to shift the time up so we can go to this afterwards. In any case, we'll be taking back roads to try to avoid the traffic, so thanks for the heads up!
Let me know if you're going. Maybe we can meet up somewhere. |

I was hoping it would be in New Haven where I live. I know he likes to come here and visit Yale...

22. It's 3:00 PM this Sun. at Library Park in Waterbury
|
It's free, but you have to have tickets. You can request them by calling Chris Murphy's campaign office. Right now, they're just taking your name, email address, and phone number and will let you know in a few days if you have tickets or not.
I looked on a map and it's close to where I-84 intersects with Route 8. |

16. Quinnipiac is in CT.
|
I know CT is a little State. The candidates generally never come here except to raise money.
But regardless of the size of any State, a Senate seat is a Senate seat and Linda McMahon has been doing very well, thanks to her bottomless financial resources. So if we do not get this Senate seat, you're saying it doesn't matter because it's CT? It could be the seat that makes the difference. You should care about EVERY seat because they ALL matter. |

It's gone for Reagan and Ford in the past. Likely Obama this time, but the Senate race for Lieberman's seat MUST remain Democratic!!

|
is doing what he should be doing in CT. We need to win these blue states by big margins to counter the GOP in the south.
