The so called "huge gender gap"

So they say that President Obama is way ahead with women, while Romney is way ahead with men.

But then, Obama is also way ahead with African American and Latinos. This includes both sexes.

I haven't read about this, but I would guess that Obama is leading in every other minority group, again including both sexes.

So that leaves Romney with white men; and of course, not all white men are in Romney's camp.

So, are there really this many white men for Romney to make up for the other men in the rest of the population? Is the number of white man for Romney big enough to create this huge gender gap?

The math isn't working for me.

Except that I'm 73 years old, And I'm a life long DEMOCRAT & I've always voted and always for the Democratic Party. I will vote for President Obama in California on Nov 6th (I still get a kick out of voting at the polls on election day).

My parents took me to see JFK a few days before I was elected and my first campaign as a volunteer was stuffing envelopes for Bobby Kennedy when I was 12.

The reason my wife and I will be voting early this year is because we just moved into our new house in a new town. We didn't (and don't) want to gamble that a teabagger will challenge us on election day.

PEACE!

I'm a 50 year old blue collar white guy who is voting straight D ticket and for marriage equality. But I'm atypical, and we need to get more support from people like me.

If only these were allowed to vote ( something some do dream of ), Republicans would win sixty/forty, just about every time....

and everyone else voted the other way, no there is not enough. But it does not work like that.

If he gets 70% of white men and a reasonable but small slice of everyone else, it is enough to win.

However, if as it seems from some polling, he loses the latino vote by 50+% (75-25), and the AA vote by 80+% (90-10) then he will need to get something on the order of 70 percent of white men to win. If he loses white women as well, it is over.

Turn out matters in that you can win a voting block by a huge margin, but if only a small percentage of that voting block actually votes, it means little.
