Well, today just sucks for Republicans all around...U.S. stocks edged up on Monday with equities rebounding from early lows as oil prices retreated from worrisome levels and data showed continued improvement in the beaten-down U.S. housing market. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Wall-Street-edges-housing-rb-1432214112.html?x=0 Stocks on the verge of closing above 13,000 for the first time since 2008.

1. Maybe, but gasoline prices went up $.10 to $3.53 a gallon last night.

'bad' day? The point of the OP was that economic conditions seem to be improving in spite of all the GOP has done to make matters worse. My point is that they will use the rising gasoline prices to drown out any good economic news.

That's how many have stock market exposure.
The two are certainly connected by only the most tenuous and low-coefficient of correlations it's true, but the reasons for that are not due to the concerned watchers of either. |
