Fake letters saying people ineligible to vote reported by Collier elections officials

The Collier County Supervisor of Elections is warning people about letters falsely questioning voters' citizenship and bringing their voter eligibility into question.

Jennifer Edwards said her office has heard from five voters who received the letter, which she said falsely misrepresents her office. Similar letters have been reported in three other Florida counties.

East Naples resident Wayne Hoss received a letter on Saturday. He said he knew immediately it was a hoax because he was born in the U.S.

"The envelope did not have an official return address," he said. "It just seemed to be a fraud."

...this, from a Nation article I posted just a few minutes ago here about True the Vote:

The labor group AFL-CIO held a conference call this morning where it discussed the deployment of its Lawyers Coordinating Committee, part of their My Vote, My Right voter protection program. Lawyers from Florida, Pennsylvania and Nevada described how they have already been fending off challenges and voter suppression efforts from True the Vote and their affiliates, well in advance of Election Day. Florida attorney Alma Gonzalez said their lawyer team is in regular communications with all but one of Florida’s county elections supervisors about True the Vote and have successfully blunted purges demanded by True the Vote’s recruits — the lone standout being Collier County, where purging has commenced.

Not saying this is related. It may not be. But it certainly is odd that "True the Vote" has succeeded in implementing voter purging in Collier County - and that what is described in the OP is also happening there, too.

We have to be on guard. I'm not sure what that means exactly but at least the intent to not let these illegal acts go unpunished has to be stated.
