Wisconsin

Cannot take this state for granted.

Voters in this state are a bit tempramental.

Things might be tightening up here as we get to election day in this state.

Wisconsin is Point 2 of 3 of the famous "Electoral Firewall" theory that the Obama campaign is counting on.

Point One: Ohio
Point Two: Wisconsin
Point Three: Iowa OR Nevada

Nice to see someone parroting the National Journal(?) article claiming to know Obama's strategy. I remember Clinton and Bush Sr. campaigning in Wisconsin right up until Election Day 1992. It was razor thin in 2000 and 2004. So no one takes it for granted.

While it had a noble purpose behind it, the timing was wrong - it should have waited until after the Presidential election.

By doing it in the middle of a Presidential year, it galvanized and energized the right-wing in Wisconsin and turned Governor Walker into a National conservative hero. It also allowed the Republicans to put in a place a bigger electoral framework for Romney's ground operation in the Fall, which they admit they have turned over to him.

It narrowed Obama's lead within the state in the polls.

The choice of Paul Ryan has also made the state more competitive.

All in all, the Republicans have been smart in Wisconsin this year.
