He will say this again. It is how Frank Luntz has told them to blunt the longstanding "Trickle Down Economics" phrase. It is called the dodge-and-pivot move. That is, you address the attack by avoiding it and pivoting quick to an attack of your own. Other R's are starting to say it too. It has even reached our Senate race here in Maine. How should Obama respond?
I think he should say, "Sorry Governor, all the dancing and dodging isn't going to work. I have cut taxes for 95% of the population including 18 different tax cuts for small businesses. I have frozen spending and agreed to a trillion dollars in deficit reduction. You stand here and refuse to deny your top-down trickle-down supply-side economics theory that is OLD and BAD policy that has never worked and will not work now, because you can't deny it. Instead you are trying to dance around it. Well you don't get to. You know what your economic theory is and so do the American people. You refuse to ask the very richest to pay one cent more so that the middle class can have the break it deserves."
