There is strong speculation that the Diocese of Milwaukee Bankruptcy case will see Cardinal Dolan facing a subpoena to testify about his attempts to protect assets from claims by abuse survivors.

which is very complex. The old simplistic view is of gods striking down whoever displeased them. The view of God that develops in the Hebrew and Christian scriptures is of a God who allows us to live with the consequences of our actions and in-actions. If every evil thing we did was immediately set right, would there really be such a thing as free will?

“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
