4. I don't think Ryan will be looked at the same again

The way that some boxers who suffer a bad knock-out are never the same in the ring again, I think Ryan suffered a career-altering defeat. The media may try to spin this as simply Joe Biden preventing Ryan from getting his point across with his smile as if that smile were masking tape on Ryan's mouth, you could see a notable change come over Ryan in the middle of that debate, the way you see a fighter completely lose momentum and start the slide towards defeat. By the end of the debate, Ryan's smirk was gone and he was gulping after Biden made his points. Ryan's closing statement was very weak and subdued. His confidence was shattered.
