Screaming loudly on the Internet that your side lost a debate will not help you Win the Election....

especially if you do it over and over again,
every chance you get, for days on in....

It's a proven FACT!

and a special note; it doesn't make you look smarter than the rest of us either.....
it just makes the Republicans look smarter!

Are we all clear on that?

Unless you think creating a sense of tension will get people to the polls, how could criticizing the Prez and spilling fear with no thought for self-control do anything good?

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out!

But of course, please scream as loudly and as often as you can if that is your choice......
The Republicans and the media would for sure welcome it! The only thing they like better than a general pile-on
is War!

4. Absolutely!

It's been non-stop since last Wednesday. I don't really think Obama lost the debate just because he didn't twitch like a meth addict and lie his ass off like Romney. This self-flagellation that liberals are prone to does us no good whatsoever, and it only gives more ammo to the asshole Republicans who love to exploit our failings, or mis-perceived failings, rather.

as a matter of fact, the following Sat after the debate, I got so upset, I went out for one hour in a certain area of town and registered 6 voters on the spot by myself... the saying is so true: "ACTIONS speak louder than words"

36. If I may cut in

There is a point to say

" Obama did not do good at the debate, he needs to do much better, and tell his advisors to stuff it. We need to both pressure and encourage him to do better."

Then, there is

"OMG! This lost us the elctions, Dammit, Obama wanted to lose! Did you read the latest poll? He never was a good speaker! Dammit we should have elected Hillary! Cut off funding and focus on the Congress!"

The above sampel is from various places, namely here and Huffpo.

See the difference?

The GOP knows that we tend to self analyze more, and yes, while that is a noble trait, we as leftist need to develop a sense of fortitude. He walk into boxing matches with a glass jaw, and wonder why we get knocked out.

20. Frankly, Obama did win the debate.

Romney lied many times. He attacked the mild spoken moderator. His eyes exuded a look of mania.

Obama stuck to policy and the facts. Obama was polite toJim Lehrer. Obama maintained a stance of humbleness.

23. What I'm finding is that it's not helping...

...when discussing things with Republican friends. It gives them an opportunity to say things like "You are the ONLY person I know who didn't think that was the worst showing by a debate contestant in modern history. Hell, Palin had her sh*t together better than Obama..." and "Even your friends at MSNBC think that Romney kicked Obama's ass..." And they are justified by saying that. They're mainly repeating and amplifying our own echo-chamber.

Besides, the narrative is going to change in a few hours. I certainly hope Ryan out-smarmifies himself tonight.

26. I <3 FrenchieCat! You're so right..

one of my observations since the first debate, has been that too many Democrats are desperate to appear so smart and above-it-all, that they had to pan the President's performance. Frankly, MOST people thought that romney acted rude and hepped up on drugs. But this faling on the sword attitude here, turned a freak show into a triumph for Romney.

The ONLY thing I will say is that sadly, too many simple folks who don't pay attention to the campaign, watched the debate and saw Romney for the first time.. without the context of his filthy lies.. and saw something else entirely. They were simply too uneducated to realize what filthy lies they were, and the President was just overwhelmed with the pure agression and non-stop lying that he had no way to counter EVERY single lie at the time. It was like a fucking avalanche of lies, delivered by a coke addict. (seriously, I think that there is either something wrong with Romney or he's on drugs. People think that it's not possible, but I've seen so many shocking cases of drug overdoses by high level community leaders, doctors, business owners, church people, that it's not that far fetched.)

30. Then...blame the "simple folks" you mention and not Dedicated Democrats who post here

as the problem. If it's the "simple folks" then what do we do about them? WHY are they "simple" and "uninformed?"

Let's address the issue of WHY...

37. Why

Becuase we as Liberals need to learn to speak to Joe sixpack.. Bill Clinton, for all his faults, was a master of it. Liz Warren could be (and I pray) will be. And yes, Ed Scghulz and Mike Moore are, but they tend to show the same fault Joe Sixpack does, they both think if something cannot be yelled out in a Beer soaked voice, fuggetaboutit! We need to follow the lead of Current TV, where people can be funny, honest, simple, yet cover the bases..

I think Current has taken what Jon Stewart refused: use comedy as a way of connecting to people, and as Malcolm X would put it :"speak right down to earth in a langauge that everybody here can easily understand."
