Liberal Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz says Media Matters could become the Rev. Jeremiah Wright of 2012 for the Obama campaign if the White House and the Democratic Party dont clearly distance themselves from the organization.
Well I think if swing voters in the pro-Israel community had any idea how extreme Media Matters was on issues of Israel and supporters of Israel, they would regard Media Matters as another, you know, Rev. Wright, Dershowitz told The Daily Caller.
And for many, many in the pro-Israel community, it would be a game changer.
Dershowitz went so far as to suggest that Media Matterss rhetoric on Israel, particularly from Media Matters Action Network senior fellow M.J. Rosenberg, is similar to what one would find on a neo-Nazi website.

(24,399 posts)is now equated with being anti-Israel? Since they don't seem able to win them over to their side the old fashioned way (i.e. give them good reasons to vote FOR them), the Republicans seem to be making a calculated and concerted effort to drive a wedge between Obama and jews, blacks, latinos, women, Catholics so that at least even though they won't vote for them, they won't help Obama win re-election either.
Fortunately, their campaign to turn all of these sources of support against Obama doesn't seem to be working quite so well..........

Its sounds like Media Matters is doing a great job. Thank goodness we have them on our side.

(19,001 posts)They are grasping at straws, the writing is on the wall 9 months out and it's an ugly story for the GOP. They're going to throw everything but the kitchen at the wall and see if anything sticks.
They're down to weak garbage like this. They're last hopes are being pinned on gas prices going through the roof and killing the economy.

(13,616 posts)and because of that, I try to temper myself, but I will confess this.
If folks like Brietbart, Dershowitz, Lieberman, Cantor and others represented all the Jews I knew, I could see myself becoming anti-semitic.
Fortunately, I know there are the Naomi Kliens, Naom Chomskys, and others here at DU that shows the golden side of Judaism. Shalom to you all!
