SCOTUS Situation a GREAT Opportunity for Bernie!

Here's a chance for Bernie to show real leadership.

First off, he should be super supportive of Obama's nominee. That will help dispel the idea that he doesn't support Obama, and will resonate with the D faithful.

Second, he uses his position as a sitting Senator to push for a quick confirmation of Obama's nominee. This will show everyone just how influential he is in the Senate. He will be able to show in real time how he is better equipped than was Obama to get things done in Congress.

Finally, if things get bogged down, he can mobilize his revolutionary army of voters to descend on DC and demand that the Senate do their Constitutional duty and confirm a new SCOTUS judge. It will give Bernie an opportunity to show what his revolution really means and what it will look like if he is elected. That display of people power will strike fear in even the most-ardent obstructionist.

Go Bernie!

Bernie has a unique opportunity to control the conversation and dominate the news cycle. He is a sitting Senator and can really shine here.

Conversely, if Clinton surrogates in and outside the Senate, attempt to subvert Sanders' attempts to lead the effort or approve Obama's nominee, it will look poorly on her. Her best play would be to follow his lead in the Senate and support his efforts.

2. Ya but that means Bernie would actually have to do some work in Congress

Up to this point, his revolutionary ways in Congress have been pretty much non-existent and he's been there for 25 years.

If the GOP tries to obstruct, Bernie people will support the president's nominee, of course.

And watch the GOP squirm while they try to justify not confirming him or her.
