1. I'm sad that folks here do what they have always done....

Pounce on this President whenever the chance arises,
and never, never, never have his back!

I'm sad and sick of it!

11. ok im not pouncing on his back

and i've had his back and I still have his back...ive been working my ass off registering voters for our party so don't start assuming that we're just waiting to be against him or whatever

but just because I support Pres. Obama doesn't mean that I can't point out when I think that we had a rough night.....Romney just lied the whole night and Pres. Obama really didnt point that out

and on my fb feed I see new found excitement for rmoney's campaign that wasn't there before.

im watching msnbc and i agree with tweety- a couple more of these nights and the race will have completely shifted

29. I agree completely

I send money; I do phone banks; I talk to my neighbors and Obama yard signs are in my yard. With all that said: Obama needed to keep his eyes on Romney. He needed to talk about the 47%. He needed to call Romney out as a liar every time he brought up the 715 billion dollar lie. He needed to fight like this is the fight of his life, because it is the fight of OUR lives. I truly think we are all fucked if the republicans get back into office. This election is very important for those of us in the lower middle class............because if Obama is not elected..........those of us in the lower middle class, will be in the lower class 4 years from now.

38. If you do all you say you do, then this debate wasn't targeted at you. If I believe you,

you're already spoken for, right? The president has to speak to nonpartisans, and being the jerk that Romney was tonight, isn't the way to do that. Each candidate already has his "base" sewn up.

43. He knows what he is doing.

He can not come off as angry, he must appear to be above that. He must address the issues that you bring up, but this was not the format for that kind of debate. And the tactics that you want to see utilized are best implemented by campaign staff, through the web site and advertising.

I understand your frustration, and I certainly value all the hard work you are doing on all of our behalf. But you must trust President Obama. You saw him float like a butterfly, now watch while he stings like a bee.

We'll get there.

It sucks but it's the truth.

Romney had a much better delivery even though he was spitting lies like bullets from a gatling gun.

The only thing that will hurt Romney will be his stage manner.

That smug made me want to reach through the TV and slap him back to Bain.

Don't be sad, it's all good!

He has weakened his opponent by letting him throw all his punches in the first debate. If that's all the punches that Mittens has to throw, the next round could be very interesting, because we know the President can easily rebut all of Mitten's lame accusations.

when I say that Romney won the debate and Obama got wiped all over the floor.

I'm still going to phone bank for him, talk him up, push the issues that I think are important, such as the importance of reproductive choice and gay rights, and try to get him elected.

But last night hurt, and I think it will cost us votes. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying it.

This Mitt Romney is not the same one who has shown himself for the last year and a half. How many contrast commercials can be made over the next week between the real Mitt Romney and the liar we saw tonight? This isn't over by a long shot.

Obama wanted to have a civil debate and really try to get his point out to the voters. But Mitt was just focusing on attacking the Pres, and even if he did it with a lot of misinformation, how many people can we trust to actively do there own fact checking? Especially when trust in media is at an all time low. I just really wanted him to push Mittski on stating his positions - to show that he is all puff

its amazing though how he has one bad day and the media acts as if everyone will forget everything bad that Romney has done

With the final home stretch near sight of us let's dig in deep and try to help out the campaign in whatever way that we can- phonebanking, canvassing, donating, etc.

I know that the election def got a little closer after last night but you know what....I'm actually even more fired up than before and its our duty to make sure that we've got our president's back and that we help him win this election

In terms of favorability, Romney gained only a bit, and only with Republicans.

Obama saw a 16-point swing in his favorability among independents.
