The jury system is totally out of wack

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Hassin Bin Sober (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

This afternoon I was a jury where someone called another poster a .... |(well, you can read the name used for yourself below), yet the jury decision was to leave the post alone. Since when is calling someone a ........ not a personal attack.

This is getting ridiculous. On the other hand, people have been hid for a lot less than that, like calling the a statement in a post "irrational". That's a comment about someone's statement, not a personal attack on poster who stated the opinion.

Obviously who someone supports for the nomination has a lot more influence on jury decisions on this board than the behavior they exhibited. People who indulge in these exhibitions of prejudice (there is nothing else you can call it), do not deserve the proud title of "progressive".

Other people are lurking in the groups of their candidate's opponent specifically to alert on posts made in those supposedly protected environments. How childish and petty.

And aren't bright enough to express ourselves without littering our posts with words we wouldn't use in front of children?

I could understand these kinds of reprehensible behaviors on a site called the Republican Underground or from a bunch of internet brats who lose all sense of manners and decorum every time they get a mouse or a smart phone in their hands, but not here on a site reserved for people who are supposed to value free speech and civil behavior. Right now we ample reason to be ashamed of ourselves.

Oh you and I aren't guilty because we never act like that. Well, when people on "our side" indulge in bad behavior and those of us that segment tolerate it and do not call them out, then we essentially condone that behavior so we share some guilt. And I must admit I am personally guilty of this.

While we we may disagree on just about everything in this in this race for the nomination, can't we at least quit acting like a bunch of uncivilized Republicans.

Here the text of the jury decision email:

Right, that aligns perfectly with trying to censure posters that we don't agree with CajunBlazer Feb 2016 #3
Too many alerts on this board, why can't posters ignore posts they don't like instead of JRLeft Feb 2016 #2
