Sometimes, politicians like to spice up their talks about how badly theyll crush their opponents by going into some you know hyperbolic territory. While you usually get grandiose promises of absolute decimation, in the case of Hillary Clinton, the GOP seems to have this weird yet strangely sexy obsession with spanking her.
Chris Christie isnt letting his loss at the Iowa Caucus slow him down, because he made quite a few people in New Hampshire laugh today when he promised to beat [Clintons] rear end if they ever face off for a debate.
You know the last person she wants to see on that stage in September? Youre looking at him, Christie boasted. She sees a federal prosecutor on the stage, Ill beat her rear end on that stage, and after I do, shell be relieved because shell just be worried I was going to serve her with a subpoena.

Will Republicans ever learn?

(34,426 posts)Maybe it's desperation to get attention to keep his campaign alive, but there was something seriously wrong with him well before this campaign.

(9,527 posts)There are lots of things wrong with him. He's worked hard to be this much of a putz, he deserves credit for all of it.

(30,247 posts)The guy is a bully and tone deaf. This is what he responded to a voter in NH when she asked him if he shouldn't be in NJ (after the blizzard, several towns were severely flooded). Christie's response: I dont know what you expected me to do. Do you want me to go back there with a mop? I'm still hopping mad over the cavalier way he responded. There were some areas by the shore that were flooded worse than during Sandi.

(30,247 posts)It's not cheap to live by the shore, but the man is paid to be governor of NJ, not to be gallivanting in IA and NH. When a disaster strikes, residents expect him to show his sorry ass in the state and stay there more than 24 hrs. People were infuriated by his callous comments.
spooky3
(34,426 posts)the importance of appearance and the importance of getting things done. As just one example of a contrast, during our recent blizzard, the guy was working around the clock. Was on the early news shows, the late news shows, and the late late news shows, with detailed info about exactly how many salt and plow trucks were out and what steps the state was taking to help people.

(30,247 posts)They threw in the towel and let Christie run away with the election. He probably would have still won (then, I doubt he would now), but the party didn't even make an effort to help her.

(2,872 posts)I was in Texas at the time Christie was elected, but that sounds ridiculously boned over to not even fight. Especially someone like Christie-- the NJ Dems must be severely kicking themselves in the ass right now.

(80,708 posts)Who knows, perhaps it is because she and Christie both agree that we need more pot smokers in prison.
Beacool
(30,247 posts)They thought that it was a waste of resources. Very little money was put into her candidacy and no Dem. big shot came to speak at any of her events. It was shameful. To be fair, Christie was going to win anyway, but he wouldn't have felt that he had a mandate if his win had been narrower. I strongly dislike him, he's a bully and rude to anyone who doesn't agree with him or asks him a tough question.

I think also that Christie is trying to juvenilize other's in the running, like his remarks about Rubio, because he's doing so badly and stuck at the "kids' table" as Rachael Maddow likes to call it.

He can barley contain his excitement at the prospect of being able to semd federal troops into legal marijuana states to round up pot smokers.

Yeah, Christie should try to "spank" Hillary. She would have him on his ass before he knew what hit him.

(30,247 posts)Ever since Hillary has been in the spotlight, there have been many fake images of her dressed as a dominatrix. Some of these RW men definitely get turned on by a "bad girl". Notice Rand Paul and his obsession with the state of her marriage. There are a lot of inappropriate thoughts from RW male politicians about Hillary.
Back in 1996 when Dick Morris got caught with a prostitute and had to resign from Clinton's reelection campaign, the prostitute in question gave an interview to one of the rags. She mentioned Morris telling her that he had sexual fantasies about Hillary. I remember my first thought on that, a big EWWWW.
It seems that many guys can't help themselves when in a woman is running for office. During one CNN debate in 2007 or 2008, I can't recall, they decided to use unusual camera angles. At one point, the candidates were shot from the back to show viewers the audience. Well, the comment section was 50/50 about Hillary's ass and not about what the candidates had said during the debate.
