Prediction time: will the right blame Romney or blame their policies?

When (not if) Romney loses BADLY in November, will the Republicans place more blame on Romney for being incompetent at campaigning or "not conservative enough" or will they take a look in the mirror and admit that it isn't that Mitt Romney is himself a terrible candidate (he is) or that his campaign is woefully inept (it is as well) but that the country overwhelmingly rejects their policies.

They have only cared about the rich white straight guy forever.
That is finally catching up with them.

As Sen. Graham said "there aren't enough angry white guys."

Well, you can't exclude women, brown people, black people, smart people, gay people poor people, middle class people, and expect to win.

Sure you can dupe some into voting against their interests by trotting out abortion or flag burning or gay marriage or any other number of social hot button issues to tug at the heart strings of people maladroit at understanding how badly your economic and foreign policies are screwing their backside, but you can't do it forever.

Yet, I wonder if instead of realizing this truth whether they will double down on their Ayn Randian idiocy in four years and run Ryan or Santorum or some other tea party loon who is a "true conservative."

Care to predict whom they will blame?

actually think there is a fair chance they will say "he wasn't a real conservative".. my reasoning is, that to do otherwise would not fit the fox business plan... that's really what the modern Republican Party is about.. increasingly it's more of a marketing tactic than a legitimate political party... they have the base and they will simply reprogram them to the next corporate suit...

the good news for us, is that while this will make a great business model, it will assure their ultimate destruction, as demographics are on our side, and it's simply a matter of time..

their whole operation is based on alternating between validating a sense of victimhood and railing against boogymen.

First they will blame Obama for telling lies
Next they will claim the voting systems were rigged to favor Oama
Then they will say that Robme was not a conservative...i.e. if he had been even more bat-shit crazy he would have won.

They will not understand that the vast majority of Americans do NOT share their "values". They will not understand that demographics are against them if they hold to "traditional" conservative views. The nation is not only growing older but also more ethnically and religiously diverse. Christians are still the majority religion but many other religions have found their place in our society including MUSLIMs.

In a way I am glad that the reich-wing will not understand what defeated them because they will repeat this in 2016.

But mark my word...we cannot be complacent. We need every vote, every phone call, every sign, every dollar to defeat a campaign that has unlimited amount of Koch and Koch-like money to confuse and lie the way to the White House.

I want them to go full bore with the nutso candidate in 2016. Santorum will of course think he's next in line since he was last one standing. Tea Party will ensure they stay crazy. We want this. This is good for us.

was going on about how they were actually right about the embassy situation, just blew it politically.

That is what he is doing - saying Romney is a GREAT man, just a bad politician.

What he is saying, but does not know, or the "liberal" media can't see or won't expose is - they simply feel they did not have a good enough actor to get past their putrid policies.

They are so lacking in self awareness to get it, but that is what they are bemoaning, not having someone capable of selling their crape well enough.

Liberals already hate him.

Republicans will blame him.

Independents find him irritatingly snobby.

They thought that in 2010 there was this huge cultural change for them, just like in 1994. Except, it was more that Clinton and Obama voters did not come out enough. In 1994 they overreached and they did so again. They also never learn, just keep going further to the right.

They'll blame rMoney for "misrepresenting" himself and buying the nomination.

They'll blame Demon Obama for casting a spell over the "minorities" and "stealing their votes."

They'll insist that "illegals" voted in droves.

They'll blame anyone, everyone and anything that shoves the responsibility OFF them and onto anyone else. They will paint themselves as agonized victimes, like they always do.
