Lets start a survey

I would like to ask everyone the following questions;
Have you lost any friendships as a result of politics..if Yes how many..
and did they leave you or did you leave them..

I will start..I have lost four..a sister, a friend of fifty years, another friend of eight years and another of four..in each and every case it was them deciding to break off with me because of my beliefs..Not a single case did I turn on them because of their beliefs..crackpots though they were..

Lets see if we can get this poll going!

The ones who bait me are the ones I have no problem not being friends with. If they could only understand how stupid they sound. They can't even back-up their own remarks.

Several Facebook friends, mostly from High School and College Days. I have 3 siblings. Two of us are liberal, the other two extremely conservative. Oddly enough, my identical twin is one of the unwashed.

My husband and his older brother have always been close and met each other for drinks every other week at the VFW. But, his brother got into it with him over Obama this year and stormed out. My husband's made overtures toward him, but he hasn't answered his phone, only calling once at the hospital to talk to my husband when he had a hip replacement. One of my sisters had a big meltdown over abortion with me and my other sisters after an acquaintance's daughter had an elective abortion of a fetus with chromosomal defects. We used to get together and do lunch all the time; now we forego the pleasant ritual. We feel stiff and uncomfortable with her and we'd feel guilty going without her. She's too outspoken and we don't want any more scenes.

but the tension is SO freak'n thick at times, with niece's husband (who is brainwashing his teenage boys) and a couple of their friends.

My poor niece (she is a WONDERFUL, caring, giving, person and has laid the LAW about NO politics during family/friends get togethers) has to keep one ear open at all times...usually her husband tries to begin the baiting process...she either gives him the icy cold, stink eye glare or just says, STOP.

My brother in law is no better.

They all get their info from, 1. ClusterFuksNews and 2. AM Hate Radio.
