Obama Draws 18,000 in Wisconsin While 650 Show Up for Romney in California

"While President Obama was mobilizing a large and loud crowd of thousands of supporters in Wisconsin, Mitt Romney was fundraising off of a crowd of 650 in California.

Here is how Fox 11 described the Obama rally in Wisconsin last night, “Then the President continued his attack on the GOP ticket in front of an estimated 18,000 people at the Summerfest grounds along the lakeshore.”

While Obama was rocking the crowd in Wisconsin, Mitt Romney was off trying to raise money for his cash poor campaign. According to the AP, “Speaking to roughly 650 supporters gathered at Grand Del Mar, a luxury hotel north of San Diego:

..............

"Obama spent his day talking to tens of thousands of supporters, while Romney was complaining about not being able to visit his second home at a fundraiser."

And thus, the disconnect again. Rmoney is actually complaining about not being able to visit his second home.

Gee, Mutt, you sure are lucky enough to be rich enough to own a second home. Most people can't even afford a first home.

2. But if each one of those 650 are trained to rig a voting booth........

.....I am so concerned that all of this may still not go in the way that the people have voted.

4. My heart sank when I learned that David Foster was a Romney supporter. Such creativity, and.....

he's a wingnutter? David is "The Hit Maker", who's written for all the big names. I'll never be able to listen to his music in the same way. I'm heartbroken.

5. In fairness to Romney though,

CA isn't exactly friendly territory for Republican presidential candidates. That's why they always badmouth us.

11. Like Nixon, and Reagan, who lived there?

Sorry, but I grew up in Nixon's home town, and had to listen to my teachers brag on how they had played football with him in high school.

The coast from LA north is blue, but San Diego, OC, and all the inland and agricultural areas are red, red, red.

15. A lot of those red areas in California are starting to turn blue

In 2008 Obama went with 50 state approach and this election it's starting to pay dividends.

8. Mitt and the President were after different numbers.

Obama the 47%;s body count and Romney the 1%'s cash count. Apples and oranges, as it were.

I drive a pedi-cab in Milwaukee, and its a mile and a quarter from the south gate of the summerfest grounds to the north gate. There were people lined up that whole distance and then looped around another couple of buildings and made the line an estimated mile and a half long. This line stayed over a mile long, even though people were walking into the festival grounds from 2:30 when the doors opened until about 5:15 when an end to a seemingly endless line finally appeared. The event organizers will have an exact number, because each person entering was required to fill out their ticket with their name on it in order to enter! It was truly remarkable to witness!!!

12. R-W claims it was only 5,000

They say an analysis of 'photographic and video evidence' shows a much smaller number.

Not sure whether this spin will effect anything, but it's out there.

14. Second home?

Romney's boyhood home was a 5,500 sq ft mansion in Detroit. 2nd home of note was Belmont MA -- $3.5 mil on 2.4 acres, 6,500 sq ft

3rd home -- the Wolfboro NH compound. includes a 5,400 sf mansion and 11 lakefront acres. $10 mil. This is now their summer home.

4th home - Park City Utah. 7 bedrooms, 9.5 baths, 11 acres and a cozy 9,500 sq ft. $5.3 mil

5th home -- La Jolla CA, $12 mil but that tidy little box will be bulldozed to make room for an adequate home atfer he loses in November.

6th home -- Belmont (again). $900K for 2 bedroom. They are scaling down.
