2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumI gotta wonder out loud--does Romney really want this?
Like McCain, he seems to really just have wanted, after SOOOOOOOOO many years of trying for it, to be the Republican nominee for president. But to BE the president? I think he sees all that is involved in the job, and I think his heart just isn't in it. I think he's going to breathe one BIG sigh of relief when Obama's re-election is announced on November 7.
Ryan, unlike Palin, will be pissed that he got duped into being VP of a candidate who was just not cut out for the job, and figured it out only halfway through the campaign. Let's keep a close watch on how much energy he spends on his VP campaign and how much he spends on his re-election to Congress from his Wisconsin district. If he loses both, there's always that $450,000 Fox Noise slot waiting for him. He can join Fox and Fiends and not only make it a foursome, but double the cumulative IQ of the hosts just by joining the other three.

(10,103 posts)But he doesn't want the scrutiny from the 'little people'. He believes that he is above all that stuff, and I don't think either his character or his financial dealings will be able to withstand it.
