Democrats Lead Republicans 6:1 In Early Voting in Iowa

In the "swing state" of Iowa, democratic interest in early voting is far outpacing that of the republicans. So far democrats have requested 100,000 early voting ballots to the republican 16,000.

Local republicans are noting that Romney and Ryan seem to be paying little attention to Iowa, as of late.

Early voting helped deliver a lot of swing states. The campaign is focused on early voting.

Good things about early voting...

1. Your vote is locked in, so, if anything happens on Nov. 6th, whether you're in a car accident or some awful thing like that, you'll still have your vote counted and 2. They won't be able to change their mind!

ANYTHING that Democrats like they automatically hate ....

Remember the days when Democrats would trumpet loudly how 'bipartisan' they are ?

Hah ... those days are long gone .... Thanks to the likes of Limbaugh, Beck and InsHannity

That's why the Electoral College came into existence in the first place.

Even US Senators were selected rather than being popularly elected. The Founding Fathers did not trust the (unpropertied) rabble.

Rendition or the Patriot Act? Or, little known, BP's massive cover up the REAL DAMAGE caused by the oil spill and the fact that they have not even offered money to most of the victims? He has to answer to the same money interests as Rmoney! I am a proud Progressive who understands that Rmoney is much worse for America, but I also understand that because of our system of legalized bribery (campaign finance and Citizen's United), our leaders no longer represent US, WE THE PEOPLE! I still view this as the lessor of two evils. SUPPORT TRUE CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM!

If a person votes and then dies before 11/6 your vote isn't supposed to be counted but I doubt the registrars office looks into those things.

It was held in a dingy, abandoned bar in our local mall. It was still better than waiting in line on election day.

Overseas voters in some counties can vote by email. I did in the primary and will again in the general election.

Iowans have 40 days to vote early and the democratic party is taking full advantage of that. I expect to vote in a couple of days.

Straight Dem ticket. In-person early voting starts on Sept. 27

My town tends to run red, but there has been an odd absence of very many political signs. We have a pile of Dem signs in our yard. Our neighbor across the street has a few Dem signs. Another neighbor has an Obama sign. There are a smattering of signs around town - mostly for state and local races - for both Dem and GOP.

I have not seen ONE Romney sign!!! Very curious.

go door to door and offer democratic voters the opportunity to do early voting. Apparently, the ground game is working.
