There have always been close links between the world of popular music and Woo - Robert Johnson and the Devil, the Beatles and the Maharishi, Jimmy Page and Crowley, Madonna and Kabbalah etc. The King is no exception.
On the night of 24th July 1979 at a Spiritualist Church in North London Carmen Rogers, a "nationally known medium of exceptional talent", made contact with Elvis nearly two years after he died. Naturally, and no doubt in the interest of scientific enquiry, the process was recorded and released as an album (or LP as we called them in those days) on Shadow Records.
It says, right there on the back cover, "You will hear the questions and the amazing answers, from the spirit world of Elvis Presley". Wow! I'm all shook up!
Unfortunately, Elvis himself fails to speak on the album; however, Carmen Rogers assures us that Elvis spoke very clearly to her. He doesn't even sing his great number "(There's) No Room To Rhumba In A Sports Car" - which, you have to admit, would have been awesome.
