Woo and BS on history message boards

I have not found a world history message board that is not full of nationalist and ethnocentric hacks. The Macedonian nationalists that think Alexander the Great was a Slav. The Indian nationalists who think the Indo-European languages originated in India. The Turkish nationalists who think Etruscan or Minoan or Sumerian is related to Turkish. And they always type in poor English and have a penchant for ALL CAPS.

2. I've always wanted to travel

but I don't know how I'd deal with US wooheads who interrupt the knowledgeable guide at ancient sites to rant about all the horseshit they saw on the Hysterical Channel about aliens creating all that stuff. I can imagine how utterly insulting the people whose ancestors built that stuff must find it.

I'd probably have to refrain from stuffing my socks down their throats to shut them up. I think they'd probably prefer that to what I'd have to say to them, though.

Odin, you forgot the other thing: the Russians invented everything. Oh, it's gotten better since the USSR broke up and faded into history, but I still run into it now and then.

3. I'm sure their English is better than your Turkish.

I get more irritated at people who see every historical event through conspiratorial lenses, myself. Every death was an assassination, every defeat was the result of a backroom deal, etc.

The Church of Woo's fundamental doctrine is that no two person's may share the same reality. Consensus is a mortal sin Individuated reality is the key to creating your own afterlife.
