2. No, you are not remotely the only one.

In fact, I remember quoting this scene when trying to educate one of our resident theologians last year...

Better keep listening; there might be a bit about blessing all the big-noses.

That line has cracked me up, every one of the 5,534 times I've seen that movie. |

6. The big debate...
|
I think we sometimes forget just how controversial this film was upon its release. Here's a discussion between John Cleese, Michael Palin, that stiff, self-righteous bastard Malcolm Muggeridge and some pervo in a dress. Not that I'm biassed or anything.
Hosted by Tim Rice. I'd like to add here, in a completely heterosexual way, of course, that I'd forgotten how absolutely gorgeous Michael Palin was. &feature=relmfu |

7. Funny, I just watched that a few days ago.

I had never seen this before. Those two old bores were exactly the kind of people Python mimicked/mocked.
Regarding the movie, I remember it being pulled from the only theater near us that was showing it. Bunch of local yokels put up a stink and had it yanked. I had to wait for it to come out on VHS! |
