Rug has been blocked from this group.
Rug has been blocked from this group for the following reasons:
-He read the A&A group looking for ammo to use against us in Religion. -He wasn't interested in contributing anything of substance to discussions in A&A, just asinine quips meant to inflame others. -He didn't respect the safe haven nature of our group. -He acted as a bully. The hosts of this group would like to emphasize the fact that rug was not blocked because he's a theist or has beliefs that differ from the majority of the group members. While this group is intended as a place for non believers, theists are welcome to post, provided they do so in a manner that respects the safe haven nature of this group.

As I understand it, blocking means that they can't subscribe or post here. If rug still wants to lurk here in search of ammo, he'll have to make a few extra clicks.

My issue with theist posting here is they usually don't understand the safe haven paradigm. I am always a little leary of them when they post here. I suppose this is more of my issue than anything else.

It's not bullying when it's done in defense of your religious beliefs. Or something.

Other theists have come here over the years and have been able to discuss things rationally and respectfully.
I'm afraid he wasn't one of them. |

13. I was the one who blocked brother rug
|
I'm glad to see that there are others who agree with me that he was unlikely to provide anything constructive if allowed to post here.
In the interest of transparency: rug is hanging out in the Hosts forum trying to bully his way through the three A&A hosts (with DU3, I'm allowed to post that fact - one of the things I like about DU3). Needless to say, his poor behavior has only confirmed my decision to block him. |

15. It really is a shame that anyone has to be blocked from A&A.
|
But it can't feel like a safe haven when there are attacks and confrontations.
Since rug can still read what is posted here, the block will apparently not stop the problems, but at least it will all happen in Religion, where it is pretty much expected. |

But I also agree with the blockage. Mostly because of this:
He wasn't interested in contributing anything of substance to discussions in A&A, just asinine quips meant to inflame others. Also, I see quite enough of his posts in the Religion forum. I'd hate to see this group carpet-bombed with articles about the general wonderfulness of religious belief. |

And, y'know.... that's all he does in the "Religion" forum too.

Last edited Thu Apr 26, 2012, 01:35 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) My 1st post deemed unsuitable for consumption!
Someone called "rug" an ass in the Religion forum and he responded with something that ended with "Be careful how you answer".... which I thought proved that assessment to be true so I expressed it. But here's the funny thing. My post had a typo. I added an "r" to "you". 2 or 3 (I forget) of the jury enjoyed belittling me for not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're". But if they read one word over they would see the verb "are" clearly printed. So, see, it's obviously a typo. Unless they think I should have typed "You're really are an......" Anyway.... my 1st hidden post! I'm so excited! |

Frankly, since I type with 2 fingers and can't spell anything correctly the 1st time (thank the fathers for spell check!), I'm surprised I don't make more typos.
