My son just got back from Camp Quest West!

He had an awesome time! Couldn't stop talking about it the whole way home (Grass Valley -> San Ramon is a 3 hour drive) and want's to go next year.

The counselors were great, the college aged ones mostly studying science and HS counselors training to be counselors when they are college age.

Beautiful setting, ukuleles and even a FSM night! I made sure he had his pirate hat.

He is 10, and this was his first time, so he was at the right age, the right time, and ate up every minute of it!

If you are considering a summer camp for your youngin', consider the Camp Quest camps!

BTW...Camp Quest is a camp for children of Atheists, Agnostics, Freethinkers, Brights and Nontheists.

I don't have kids, but it's good to know that such a place exists. I'm in Northern California, so I'll spread the word.

At the same camp were science camp, math camp, music camp, and other subjects. He said he wants to go to science camp next year, AND fishing camp.

Sorry couldn't resist

Having ancestral background in Michigan, I know the 'fear no fish' culture well. And pop a few Bells in the cooler and take the boat out...I can see the allure

wrestling camp as kids with a few Olympic medal winners as some of the coaches. There is a summer camp out there for any kid.

We had a one week summer camp as part of our school curriculum and I was a shy home sick kid. I spent most of that week crying and wishing I was at home. It was quite traumatic and now that I think of it kind of pathetic.

I'm glad your son had a great time!
