I hope this wasn't a well done poll.........
if so it is pretty scarey! The comments are pretty good too.

1. weird that is about the same % who believe jesus is *definitely* coming by 2050
|
Last edited Fri Feb 1, 2013, 01:53 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1) 23%. tack on another 18% for 'probably' show up in the heavens with angels and trumpets and broken vials.. that's a total of 41% or almost half of the u.s. who believe jesus will return by 2050. ignore that he probably never existed at all, plz.
the number in u.s. who 'believe in evolution'? 39%. or 2 points short of a majority of sanity. http://www.gallup.com/poll/114544/Darwin-Birthday-Believe-Evolution.aspx |

2. It just really bothers me to think that we live
|
in a country with this many low effort thinkers. I mean it is totally childish to think that if there really is a God that he would give a shit about a damn football game!
I really wish Jesus would come sooner than that and take all his "followers" with him to wherever he resides. |

4. Very interesting poll results, and frightening.
|
What is really bothersome to me is that only 74% of people with postgrad degrees believe in evolution.
There is a strong relationship between education and belief in Darwin's theory, as might be expected, ranging from 21% of those with high-school educations or less to 74% of those with postgraduate degrees.
And in every category, I am shocked at the numbers who have no opinion whether they believe or not....which probably means that they do not know enough about it to form an opinion. Even if I did believe in god, I can't see how that would mean I could not believe in evolution----in the sense that I could see a god starting this whole thing and letting it "evolve". But there is just too much evidence to ignore the whole theory. |

8. don't worry 'postgraduate' could mean anything.
|
mba for example is a postgraduate degree and we all know what *that* means.

5. So why would Tebow's team EVER lose?
|
I wonder if this is a Tebow effect. Or if it has always been this high. I am very uncomfortable with this whole thing.

Last edited Sun Feb 3, 2013, 04:12 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) Not that I'm going to become a believer or anything, but hey, Omnipotent Creator, Baltimore +4.5. And if the total points are more than 48, that would be good, too.
On edit: The over/under is 48. You have your work cut out for you, God! |

11. Clearly, I have earned the favor of the Almighty,
|
who has seen fit to not only bless my chosen football team, but also a small parlay bet that has netted me the princely sum of $31.18! Money that I will use to further my ultimate goal of carrying water for the right wing and denying the voluminous subjective evidence of a supernatural deity. Either that or a nice case of beer, I haven't decided yet. Suck on that, Churchies!
