Related: About this forumThe Hopi Tablets according to Hopi with Mayan parallel mythology
The Hopi Tablets are described here according to the Hopi tradition, with elaborations from Mayan mythology. There is even some parallel mythology between the Hopi and Buddhist traditions. An interesting read:

(11,791 posts)I'm not trying to be harsh, but what is the point of this? Who wrote it? Whatever it's point, it is horrendously written and not at all convincing.
Once the Deneb and Cygnus came into play, I remembered something I watched yesterday- Ancient Aliens. That throws any shred of believability out the window (Ancient Aliens believers refuse to acknowledge that the Maya's et. al., could build technological wonders, and that aliens gave them the technology, despite ZERO evidence).
Eta: welcome, despite my criticism of this source. I have a PhD in history, specializing in indigenous peoples.

(225 posts)The Hopi themselves are expecting a return of a Bearded white-robed brother Puhana. The person who gave the tablets was called Massau. He took a piece of the tablets and said he would return that piece when the nine signs of the Hopi were fulfilled. Considering the memory the Hopi have of the meaning of the tablet and world mythology, a reasonable argument is made describing how the Massau placed Constellations on the tablet and made the missing piece represent the Dark Rift and a prediction that the Galactic Alignment would coincide with edge of the Dark Rift where the Healer (Oph.) watches the Swan, Cygnus, fall into the Dark Rift (River) to save the life of a friend. It confirms that the messenger the Hopi await will be one willing to sacrifice his life (or lose his head) for the movement that will help purify the earth.

(11,791 posts)I meant who wrote the comparative piece you linked? Sorry about that.
I'm not disagreeing with what the Hopi said. I just get totally cranky with the conflation that all indigenous people have the same mystical understandings of the universe. THat doesn't allow for cultural uniqueness.
Thanks for posting anyway. It was an interesting read, that's for sure.

(225 posts)Nicholas Black Elk had a vision about this when he was ill with TB as a child. In his vision he saw each tribe as a ring with a tree in the center. Each tribe was linked to the other into a giant ring with a giant tree in the center. The extreme would be to make us all identical robots, so I agree with avoiding these extremes...
