New shrimp-like species found in New Mexico cave
New shrimp-like species found in New Mexico cave
April 17, 2012 5:24 PM ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Scientists have discovered a new tiny shrimp-like species in a gypsum cave in southeastern New Mexico, only a few dozen miles from the famous caves at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Bureau of Land Management cave expert Jim Goodbar says the species of amphipod was previously unknown before being discovered about a month ago during a biological inventory. It was found in a subterranean pond a couple hundred feet down a cave passage that is no more than 80 feet from the surface. The new species has not been named, but officials say it has been classified as part of the Parabogidiella genus. More: http://www.wchstv.com/newsroom/nnews/news9.shtml

I just tested the link and now the story there is: Bomb-maker in NYC subway plot testifies So sorry. I had no idea they would change the articles at the same link. I just got back to D.U. a minute ago, that's why it took me so damned long! |

Shame - I was quite enjoying the vision of stir-crazy shrimp making hiring hookers, making bombs and shooting people.
