Five-year-old Ramses Sanguino examined by doctors after mother claims he is 'telepathic'

Ramses has been described as a 'child savant'

A five-year-old boy will be examined by doctors after his mother posted online videos, which apparently show him displaying "signs of telepathy".

Ramses Sanguino, who lives in Los Angeles, California and has autism, has been described as a "child savant", after being able to speak several different languages and solve complex mathematical equations from a young age.

Videos posted on YouTube by his mother, Nxy Sanguino, show the boy speaking Japanese at the age of two, speaking Russian at 13 months and solving algebra puzzles at five.

One of Ms Sanguino’s latest videos supposedly shows Ramses reading her mind, as he recites several long numbers written out in secret by his mother. The videos have caught the attention of Dr Diane Powell, a neuroscientist and former faculty member at Harvard Medical School.

Six or seven years ago, I remember watching YouTubes of a British youngster, then in his teens, who could recite Pi like to the three thousandth place, solve complex equations as fast as people in the audience with calculators, etc.

He said he "saw" the answers, and he saw the answer in colors. (So if the answer was 33,406.7, the 3 might be red, the 4 green, the 6 yellow, etc.)

He had been a normal kid until he suffered a blow to the head, and then he gained this unique ability.

He would be asked to present his unique talents in front of academics and they had no explanation for it.

Diane Powell is a well known crazy person...

This kid, the videos, are not convincing... at all.

Hoaxarama.

And Powell is definitely just doing this to promote herself, as always.

but after a quick search, I found a couple of items that confirm what you said (and my initial reaction, btw).

I've read enough Oliver Sacks to know what some savants are capable of in the way of prodigious arithmetic skills, but I've never known him to buy into the telepathy crap.

Give Powell a few minutes with The Amazing Randi.

Come to think of it, that calls for another search.

This is just too much. This type of nonsense is pushed regularly on the Internet, but I don't think it fits the rules of this group AT ALL!
