Dhamma Brothers - Meditation and Prisoner 'reform' ...and so much more.
Dhamma Brothers - we are our own jailers...and we own the key to the cell
This film played on PBS last night ad it WAS transformative. Check out their website (below) for local PBS showtimes.
I've posted the trailer.
I wish we could have a similar program in our schools, nursing homes, businesses or in any community.
I think something we are learning from OWS and those that challenge us to transform our
world, is that often...or always...a compassionate response trumps an agressive one. We must be the change we want
to bring into this world. But how do those who have been most deeply traumatized or at odds not only with society but with themselves
find that compassion within themselves? Well maybe returning soldiers, prisoners, and those who have lost the most will not
only find the way toward personal salvation and inner peace, but perhaps they'll become examples for all of us seeking
a new way.
And it will come quietly... out of stillness...
This film is not hokey or idealistic or preachy.... it's authentic experience, warts and all. But what I found most uplifting is how
accessible it is for all of us. And by that I'm speaking more about meditation practice than Buddhism (or any religion), and
the opening/healing process that comes from being in that place of deep connection.
