I can't wait to go to church tomorrow

There'll be such a celebration that California has marriage equality again. There may be shouting and dancing, if you can imagine a bunch of Episcopalians doing that.

Lots of people, including the rector, are going to the pride parade in SF after the service, so there won't be much celebrating then, but I imagine the sermon will be all about love and justice. I wonder if any of our gay and lesbian couples will make announcements that they're going to get married. I wonder if anyone got to City Hall yesterday and got licenses. We could have the exchanging of vows tomorrow.

I don't know what all is going to happen, but I can't wait.

church service, with Bishop Gene Robinson preaching.

I attended as a member of the choir, and I must say, Robinson is an excellent preacher.

I'm jealous. I want to meet him some day.

Our bishop always celebrates the eucharist before the pride parade.

Very few of our LGBT members were in church. Probably, they were at the parade, although two of our lesbian couples have twin baby boys, and we won't see them for a while.

The sermon was one of our rector's best, and that's saying a lot! It was about how we mustn't look back but continue fighting for justice for everyone. I love my church!

However, the church was packed for the 4PM Pride Eucharist, with a lot of those GLBT members and straight allies who also marched plus a bunch of unfamiliar people in attendance.
