In the wake of the tragedy in Newtown, CT (being mindful of tragedies occurring across the globe each and every day), many hearts are broken. This collective pain and grief shows us is that we do not exist in isolation. We are intrinsically tied to one another. What you do and who you are affect
s The Whole. We are interconnected in myriad ways, both visible and invisible. To be fully human (and humane) is to recognize this connection and see yourself in others. This is the essence of The Golden Rule.

Our connection goes beyond Humanity, of course; we are inextricably linked to all life on Earth, and the Earth Herself. True Unity extends beyond Humanity to encompass all forms of life.

Compassion isn't sympathy, it isn't pity. Compassion isn't some pie-in-the-sky, Pollyanna dream. It's not about "fixing" anyone or anything. Our vision of Compassion is discussed a LOT at Wishadoo!:

Compassion is to be lived, it seeks physical expression. It calls upon us to be tender, to be gentle and see the deeper reality of human possibilities. Compassion is recognizing ourselves in others and asks us to BE PRESENT, in spite of our human frailties and failings, and in the face of the world's pain and suffering. It is never about changing the world, it's about changing ourselves.

At times the most compassionate act is to be attentive and loving toward our own needs and dreams.

ONE MORE DAY TO A NEW WORLD. It is our choice. We can start anew, within ourselves, each and every day by making that choice, not only on 12/21/12. Learn from the past, release it with gratitude, and begin again. Forgive yourself, forgive others. Be mindful of making choices from a place of Love and Peace, not fear and anger; simple, not necessarily easy.
