Pagan stone circle may have been destroyed in religous hate attack

The site in Lampeter, south west Wales, which also includes an altar and fire pit has been damaged beyond repair.

The University of Lampeter is well-known for its theological courses and there is speculation that the attack could be religiously motivated.

The steps giving access to the site, in the grounds of the town's Trinity Saint David University campus, were also torn apart.

Police believe that weapons, such as crow bars and pick axes, may have been used to deliberately cause as much damage to the area as possible.

2. Including the college administration...

<snip>
Interestingly, the BBC reports that university officials aren't overly concerned with that notion. Cen Powell, executive head of estates and facilities at Trinity Saint David, said, "There is no reason to believe that this was a result of hate crime and would consider it to be an act of vandalism."

3. Things like this make my blood boil

And the Univ taking it as just vandalism is beyond belief.

Each and every one of them ought to do the thought exercise of 'How would I feel if my church was destroyed like this'. The only problem is that only a few of them would understand how the two are related to each other. Iíve heard the Ďbut itís not the same thingí excuse many a time when giving people this type of thought experiment. They usually come back with something like Ďbut mine is a real religion and that stuff isnítí.

There are days when I feel it isn't worth waking up.

5. Disgusting!

The university's attitude almost makes it worse, salt on the wound. Some are so insecure with their own beliefs they must destroy those of others or ridicule them.

6. This type of thing really infuriates me, especially those using fundy religion to

justify their persecution of others. I call it nothing less than a religious hate attack.
