1. We do not claim to be the true church but God's favorite.

While he is out checking on all the other churches he comes to us for a cocktail.

2. I have just finished my foundations classes and will be received into the church by our bishop

next month. I was raised Baptist but left all that behind years ago. I am so happy with my choice. It is nice to find a place to worship where you don't have to stop thinking for yourself.

3. Yes it is great to belong to a church that allows you to think for yourself.

Don't let the bishop squeeze your head to hard when you are accepted. My bishop really did that to me.

5. I was confirmed today

not received. since my original confirmation wasn't Catholic or Lutheran. It was great. The Bishop didn't squeeze my noggin too hard but he did push down on it a little harder than expected. My mom and dad attended, took part in the laying on of hands, then we took mom to brunch - the 8th sacrament!

God's Peace

4. If I weren't Episcopalian, I would be Unitarian Universalist or nothing. There aren't any Quakers

that I know of in Mississippi so, as a person who believes in science etc., I'm pretty much limited to these two choices.

And while our states' Episcopal bishop often makes me furious, I'm still comfortable with the national church and Bishop Shori.

6. yeah, our Bishop, in our meeting before the ceremony

explained to us that we will kneel to receive the sacraments next to one another knowing full well we may disagree on many things, but what binds us are those sacraments and a commitment to Jesus Christ. The World would like issues like abortion, gay rights, death penalty, etc to divide us, but we are not to let it do so, without compromising our deeply held beliefs on those issues.

7. That's interesting. I'm a UU and exploring Episcopalianism

I'm a very theologically liberal Christian and am looking into the flexibility of Episcopal theology.

The jury is still out for me, but I'm still open.
