Here is wishing everyone posting/reading in the Religion Group

a good weekend.

If you are in an area that is experiencing rough weather, I hope you are safe, and comfortable.

And if the weather in your area isn't an issue, then I hope your weekend is a pleasant one.

Posted because sometimes it's good just to wish each other well, despite our differences.

3. We got about ten inches here in Brooklyn. Not that bad considering on the other end of

Long Island they got 30 inches. Shoveling is all done, and I am taking off tomorrow from church.

4. I haven't had to live in that kind of weather since I was stationed in Germany

back during the Cold War, a whole lifetime ago.

Glad you're safe.

8. Gosh my father was stationed in Rhein Main AFB in the mid 50s. I loved living in

Germany during the winter. My dad use to take us bike riding in the country side. We had this giant hill that we would take our German sleds down. My goodness it was the best times. Then opening the christmas calendar til christmas day. Putting our shoes out in the hall to have our shoes filled with cole if you were bad or candy if you were good. Just walking around the town during christmas was wonderful. Years later my husband and I went and we lived in Heidelberg. What a lovely city. I have such good memories. I still have my sled. I got it when I was 10 yrs old and now am 65. Germans make good products.

10. I was in an Armored Cavalry regiment that patrolled along the Czech border

back in 74-75. The country was absolutely gorgeous but we spent a lot of time in the field, and the weather made it quite uncomfortable at times.

I flew in and out of Rhein Main, and spent time in Nuremburg, Munich, Regensburg, etc. Mostly southern Germany, with a couple of trips up to the Wurzburg area. Spent a couple of weeks leave at Garmish-Partenkirchen during Christmas season. Beautiful place.

13. Garmish is the place to be during the christmas holiday. There is no better place in the

world. Really beautiful. My husband was German about 76 or 77. Then we went in l980 and then he went alone in apprx late 80s. I went to visit him during that time. I don't think I'd been to a place in Germany I didn't like. Wonderful memories for sure. Of course my husband was born in Germany and was adopted by an american family when he was about 4 or 5.

6. You're welcome. Clear roads...

we are fortunate to have the services we have, often taken for granted.

(Hoping you didn't have to shovel any of those roads yourself)

7. And to you as well, Adsos Letter!

No snow here, but lots of friends on the East Coast got hit hard. I hope all our friends in this group stay warm and dry and off the roads.

9. To you as well, cbayer!

Clear and sunny up here today, but a bit on the chilly side; still, we had a small BBQ this afternoon.

Wishing the best for everyone.

11. A good, safe, comfy weekend to all.

Only a couple of inches here in Detroit. The shoveled walks now clean and dry by the power of sunshine.

Downtown in front of my office though they dumped 3 feet of snow, put in ice sculptures, dogsleds and are offering snowshoes for running around. ...all for fun and raising money for heating bills.

I hope everyone who has snow, enjoys it.

15. LOL

Ah, the world is a big place.

One of the things that strikes me during the occasional period of melancholy...all the people I'll never meet, and places I won't see.

Of course, sometimes that's a good thing...

Enjoy.

16. It worked for the bare naked ladies.

There is so much wonder in life, especially in this era. It's hard to imagine running out of wonders when there are so many wonders I have not yet wondered about. I would wonder about things i have not yet wondered about not with melancholy, but with even more wonder.

Have wonderfilled times.

Oh, and it takes 70 to 80 years to see the world. Best you get started now.

17. Kind of snowed in here.

The roads got plowed, but my driveway has almost a foot of snow. My neighbor helped out by driving ruts into it and my snow tires might get me out, but maybe not. I will try tomorrow. Too much snow for me to shovel by hand.

I could use some good wishes.

The best to you all back at everybody.

18. You have them.

The good wishes, I mean.

On a more material level, I hope someone helps you with that driveway. One of the things I've always appreciated about good neighbors...the willingness to help.
