He was surprised that Romney didn't win the election, since he's sure his deity told him so. Trouble is, Robertson's been talking to the wrong deity all along. Given that, he should rename his church to "The First Church of Mammon." He's been confused for years, I'm sure.

Since I'm not a believer, I'm more inclined to say ol' Pat is a bigoted old fuck who uses a twisted version of Christianity to scare people and make money.

(147 posts)It's a con-game calling itself a church as a tax dodge. Plain and simple. Why is it that anything that calls itself a ""Church" gets tax free status without having the requirement of an overseeing board of directors and having to file a public annual report? That is how all other non-profits operate, and it works just fine. If this law was changed, do you really think many of the "churches" that are such cash cows and so politically active would really pass muster as true non-profits?
