Girlfriend of 'Miami zombie' Rudy Eugene says he was religious, a Christian

Yovonka Bryant, the girlfriend of Rudy Eugene, dubbed a “Miami zombie” because of his cannibalistic attack on a homeless man, has spoken out saying her boyfriend was a Christian and quite religious.

She has now retained media savvy attorney Gloria Allred, who stood by Bryant as she talked about Eugene during a news conference Wednesday.

Allred told reporters she was hired by Bryant to ensure the public knows the truth about Eugene and her client's relationship with him.

If this story weren't true, I would swear it was the Onion.

"Yovonka and I are very concerned about the issue of cannibalism and the number of cases that are being reported …," said Allred, reading from a statement at a bizarre news conference at the Sofitel Miami.
"We are hopeful that ... Yovonka can help the public understand the dire consequences of cannibalism for its victims."
